Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz – South Tyrol

South Tyrol, Italy, From £350

For the cold-seekers amongst us, South Tyrol in the Dolomites is fast becoming a choice alternative to the traditional resorts of the French and Swiss Alps. Located north of Rome, it offers a different Italy, a world away from Tuscan farmhouses and undulating hills. South Tyrol’s topography is aggressive, but stunningly so. In an area where the main language isn’t even Italian, it feels like Italy’s rebellious sibling.

Kronplatz is the hotspot for the adventurous mountain sports enthusiasts and Hotel Falkensteiner takes prime position. This five-star haven opened in December 2020 with 97 rooms and suites, the vision of experienced architect Matteo Thun. A mountain herb garden, panoramic rooftop pool and Acquapura Spa create a sense of pure luxury and escapism.
