The Details

What makes it Kobu

Islas Secas conscious design stretches to the Casita interiors, too, where Life Interiors Architecture created a soothing, textured palette of natural, organic materials heavily influenced by our surroundings. Working in collaboration with local artisans and craftspeople, tactile touches include local, hand-stitched “mola” cushions from the Guna tribe, while furnishings use reclaimed timber plantation chairs to add a touch of glamor. Throughout our luxury eco getaway, local culture is supported and sustainability celebrated, from woven dining chairs, a nod to Panamanian “mimbre” weaving, to the use of existing sailboat sails, repurposed as bar stool seats, and loungers. Even their staff uniforms are made from plastic ocean waste.

Islas Secas is devoted to its natural surroundings, and our passion is to be a blueprint for sustainable, nature-driven tourism. 750 species of fish, 80 bird species and 128 species of plants… and we’re a quick boat ride from Coiba National Park, a UNESCO-designated Protected Marine Area, home to the second-largest coral reef in the eastern tropical Pacific. Islas Secas offers unparalleled access to this extraordinary corner of the world, with immersive, responsible activities where guests can experience everything from endemic tropical birds and soaring frigates, to giant manta rays, humpback whales and kaleidoscopic schools of reef fish.
