What makes it Kobu

Hong Kong born sisters Claire and Valia Gontard have embarked on their biggest journey yet. Their Indonesian roots brought them back to Lombok to create a place combining their passion for travel, nature, authentic experiences and true hospitality. Somewhere draws on their combined backgrounds in the service industry and extensive travels to deliver a new kind of hospitality. One that is inspired by - and mindful of - Indonesia’s culture and environment while offering an experience designed to surprise and delight modern travellers.

Indonesia, its nature and its waters are our inspiration and we believe it is our duty to contribute to its preservation. By mixing chic with sustainability, we have created Somewhere as a place of intelligent and unpretentious luxury.
