Nestled within Barcelona's charming Eixample neighborhood, underneath French-style balconies and Catalan flags, you find this leafy creative sanctuary that perfectly bottles the city's inexplicable sense of chill.

Book

Casa Bonay occupies a neoclassical building, built in 1869, in the center of Barcelona. Everything from the floors to the ceilings has been lovingly restored, so you can experience its true effortless beauty. Located in the peaceful Eixample Dret neighborhood, this is one of the most iconic areas of the city. It’s a beautiful walk through the tight medieval streets of the Gothic quarter, and an even shorter bike ride from the beach.

The Details

What makes it Kobu

This leafy, subterranean hotel is classic Barcelona. There's a feeling throughout the city - an inexplicable sense of chill. Hotel Casa Bonay takes it and bottles it. Our favorite features that capture the spirit of the city are the deep blue doors, sunny terrace areas and the terracotta, tropical plant-filled courtyard.

Casa Bonay is an accumulation of efforts by local artists, craftspeople and creators. Statement wooden furniture in the rooms and communal areas is designed and made by local design-shop owner AOO. The bathroom products are made by Ana (Las Lilas), the owner’s favorite natural boutique cosmetic company. And Alejandra, the resident landscape designer, is responsible for the beautiful urban greenery. It really takes a village.
