Book

Discreetly tucked along Thompson Street in SoHo, The Manner is a 97-room boutique hotel that trades grand-hotel grandeur for something far more covetable: the feeling of staying in a glamorous friend's home. Rooms and suites are dressed in rich color palettes, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, marble bathrooms, and custom furnishings, while an integrated audio system and plush king beds keep comfort effortlessly elevated. Guests enjoy exclusive access to The Apartment — a 24-hour private lounge with snacks, curated books, and nightly aperitivo hour — plus a seasonal rooftop with sweeping Manhattan skylines. Recognized by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and Hospitality Design, The Manner has quickly become the boutique hotel standard-bearer for sophisticated New York City travel.

The Details

What makes it Kobu

When most luxury hotels were chasing minimalism, The Manner went the opposite direction — and it shows. Milan-based architect Hannes Peer, known for residential design, gave every corner the warmth of a well-traveled private home. Chandeliers, full-length mirrored walls, gold leaf inlays, rich textures, and deep color palettes replace the sterile uniformity of typical upscale hotels. Marble bathrooms, integrated audio systems, and custom furnishings speak to a quiet luxury that is felt rather than announced. The result is a sensibility that's glamorous, intimate, and entirely its own.

The Manner takes its name seriously — hospitality here is a manner of being, not a service script. The concept was inspired by the experience of staying with friends who are more stylish and more generous than you expected. Chef Alex Stupak's The Otter and cocktail bar Sloane's anchor the ground floor, making dining as much a destination as the stay itself. Wellness is woven throughout — guests enjoy exclusive access and savings at Remedy Place SoHo, ONDA Beauty, and a neighborhood luxury fitness club. This is a hotel that doesn't feel like a hotel — it feels like arriving somewhere you already belong.
